Responsibilities
- Extend the existing online calibration node with robust production software within the team’s architecture and technical direction.
- Adapt and integrate calibration and estimation algorithms for continuous or on-demand onboard execution.
- Handle asynchronous sensor data, accelerator-produced features, and noisy, time-varying calibration parameters.
- Improve validation, gating, persistence, and interfaces across calibration, onboard state, runtime consumers, logging, and fleet-facing systems.
- Profile and optimize critical paths across constrained compute, memory, storage, and latency budgets.
- Build simulation, replay, bench, and on-vehicle tests and improve metrics, diagnostics, and fleet-level observability.
- Collaborate across calibration, state estimation, robotics software, hardware acceleration, and vehicle-platform teams while shaping architecture and roadmap.
Requirements
- Strong practical expertise in sensor calibration, state estimation, or a closely related robotics domain, including cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, vehicle parameters, or multi-sensor systems.
- Strong understanding of Kalman-family filters, Bayesian estimation, smoothing, robust estimation, or factor-graph optimization.
- Strong modern C++ software-engineering skills and proficiency in Python for prototyping, analysis, and test tooling.
- Experience productionizing algorithm-heavy robotics software for vehicles, robots, drones, aerospace systems, or comparable edge platforms, including lifecycle, failure-handling, and recovery behavior.
- Experience with asynchronous, high-throughput sensor data and hardware-accelerated pipelines, optimizing constrained compute and memory systems without sacrificing correctness or debuggability.
- Strong software architecture, API design, testing, debugging, performance profiling, end-to-end ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with visual odometry, SLAM, localization, sensor fusion, ego-motion estimation, or geometric computer vision is desirable.
- Experience with GPU, DSP, NPU, zero-copy or shared-memory data paths, and production runtime optimization is desirable.
- Experience with embedded Linux, edge-state management, rollback, automotive safety, or fault-injection testing in scaled robotics or autonomous-systems environments is desirable.
