Base Salary
$215k - $266k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead research, evaluation, and selection of computer vision, deep learning, and spatial navigation methods for accurate 3D facility maps.
- Develop or integrate classical and deep learning computer vision algorithms for semantic environmental understanding.
- Design and own benchmarking pipelines comparing internal algorithms with commercial and vendor solutions on accuracy, latency, compute footprint, and reliability.
- Prototype perception capabilities and transition them into optimized, edge-capable production code or integrate verified third-party modules.
- Build dynamically updateable maps with version management and consistency over changing physical layouts.
- Drive real-time localization and multi-agent tracking using camera data with GNSS, IMU, wheel odometry, and other positioning signals.
- Tune algorithms for constrained edge architectures and design robust fallbacks for tracking and mapping failure modes.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and UI engineers on spatial data products, map rendering, and asset tracking.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture discussions, technical strategy, roadmap planning, and team best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional algorithm and software development experience with significant depth in applied research, computer vision, or robotics.
- Expertise in modern C++ (C++14 or later) and Python, including productionizing AI model prototypes built with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Expertise with ROS1 and ROS2, Visual SLAM, 3D reconstruction, and mapping architectures.
- Experience deploying semantic segmentation and object detection in real-world environments.
- Experience with multi-view geometry, camera calibration, and fusing vision with IMU, GNSS, and other sensor modalities.
- Ability to decompose high-level research and business goals into actionable engineering tasks, realistic schedules, and clear milestones.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience deploying optimized vision models to edge devices using TensorRT, ONNX, or platform-specific accelerators is preferred.
- Experience with multi-object tracking and ReID architectures in dynamic environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with large-scale point clouds, mesh generation, NeRFs, or Gaussian Splatting is preferred.
