Base Salary
$220k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction and architecture of the product platform across identity, access, tenancy, shared services, developer experience, and future platform capabilities.
- Write production code, lead design reviews, and take end-to-end ownership of scalable and reliable systems used by multiple teams.
- Build composable abstractions, reusable interfaces, shared services, and developer tooling that enable product teams to move faster.
- Translate ambiguous requirements into scoped plans, make architectural trade-offs, and partner with product and engineering leadership.
- Establish engineering standards and practices that improve quality, reliability, maintainability, and effective use of AI tooling.
- Mentor and support senior and mid-level engineers across the platform and product teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend depth and the ability to work across full-stack product surfaces and domains.
- Track record of owning architectural decisions for complex production systems used by multiple teams, particularly customer-facing or cross-functional systems.
- Proficiency in Python or demonstrated strong backend depth in a Python-based technical interview.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native systems; GCP experience is preferred.
- Experience with relational data modeling and schema evolution where incorrect migrations have significant consequences.
- Strong product judgment, customer and problem discovery skills, self-direction, communication, and comfort working in greenfield environments with ambiguity.
- Extra-credit experience with RBAC, ABAC, policy engines, production-scale identity systems, internal developer platforms, shared SDKs, reusable application scaffolding, AI tooling practices, TypeScript, React, startup environments, FinTech, HealthTech, or other regulated industries.
