Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java backend services and shared platform capabilities.
- Design reliable APIs and reusable components for internal developer teams.
- Improve system performance, scalability, resilience, monitoring, and troubleshooting under significant load.
- Translate internal team needs into reusable platform solutions.
- Investigate production issues, support services in production, and improve operational reliability.
- Evolve architecture, manage compatibility, and reduce technical debt through incremental improvements.
- Build security and quality into engineering decisions and collaborate through reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on backend software development experience focused on core Java.
- Practical experience designing, implementing, and debugging multithreaded and concurrent Java systems.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems under significant load.
- Understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and API design.
- Commitment to readable code, meaningful testing, and maintainable software.
- Ability to own services throughout their lifecycle with a DevOps mindset.
- Clear communication, collaboration, technical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: experience with shared platforms, frameworks, libraries, cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform, large-scale data storage, caching, messaging, developer tooling, documentation, or integration workflows.
