Responsibilities
- Perform threat analysis and risk assessment activities, derive cybersecurity goals and requirements, and support mitigation planning.
- Develop and maintain system-level cybersecurity work products, including security concepts, cybersecurity cases, and reports, in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434.
- Define system-level cybersecurity requirements and support security requirements at the hardware and software levels.
- Support secure architecture and embedded software security mechanisms, including secure boot, secure communication, encryption, HSM, and TPM integration.
- Plan and support security verification and validation, including penetration testing, fuzz testing, vulnerability analysis, test-plan development, and test-result review.
- Support field security issues, security incidents, vulnerability management, patch development, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with technical project leads, system architects, and domain engineering teams and provide guidance on cybersecurity work products and mechanisms.
- Support security audits and assessments and travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in embedded systems, software, or cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with ISO/SAE 21434 concepts and processes.
- Knowledge of embedded C/C++, automotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Understanding of basic cryptography and secure coding practices.
- Preferred experience with penetration testing or ethical hacking and knowledge of AUTOSAR security concepts.
- Preferred familiarity with static and dynamic analysis tools and fuzzers.
- Preferred certifications include CEH, Security+, or an automotive cybersecurity certification.
- Comprehensive written and verbal English proficiency is required; basic business Japanese is needed for interaction with project teams.
