Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and document software for a scoped project on the team’s roadmap.
- Apply generative AI and agentic techniques including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, tool and function calling, and multi-step reasoning.
- Write automated tests and contribute test datasets, regression suites, and evaluation criteria for AI feature quality.
- Participate in Git, code review, CI/CD practices, stand-ups, design reviews, and demos.
- Learn the software and measurement domain of Keysight digital instruments and communicate progress and blockers.
- Present the internship project and results to the team and R&D leadership.
Requirements
- Pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent degree, with expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Experience with software development, source control, and testing.
- Experience with object-oriented programming in Python, C++, C#, Rust, or Java, including independently writing and debugging non-trivial code.
- Exposure to AI or machine-learning concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior internship work.
- Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs for the internship duration.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, agentic frameworks, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, test automation, evaluation tooling, data analysis or ML libraries, edge or embedded platforms, or relevant internships, research, open-source work, or coursework.
