Base Salary
$405k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and operate durable session and event storage, sandbox orchestration, streaming, scheduling, and multi-tenant isolation for long-running agents.
- Evolve the agent harness, including tool routing, context management, memory, error recovery, and evaluation infrastructure.
- Ship agent platform capabilities such as outcome-driven execution, multi-agent orchestration, memory, observability, and tracing.
- Design stable, developer-friendly APIs, SDK interfaces, CLI experiences, versioning strategies, defaults, and escape hatches.
- Own systems from ideation and API design through implementation, deployment, production operations, on-call, and iteration.
- Partner with research, product, developer experience, and go-to-market teams on new platform capabilities and product strategy.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of practical experience as a backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineer.
- Experience building and operating stateful, long-running, or high-throughput production systems such as workflow orchestration, streaming, storage, container orchestration, or job orchestration.
- Strong understanding of durability, consistency, failure modes, reliability, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Strong product sense and API design skills, with the ability to execute product strategy in ambiguous domains with cross-functional partners.
- Experience taking ownership from design and implementation through deployment, operations, on-call, and improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Experience building an agent harness, agent framework, LLM orchestration layer, AI/ML platform, LLM evaluation infrastructure, durable execution or workflow engine, sandboxed code execution system, container runtime, or public developer platform is preferred.
