Responsibilities
- Design and build automated test suites for firmware, controls, and runtime behavior in software-in-the-loop environments.
- Integrate simulation inputs and dynamic models, including simulated camera feeds, to represent real robots for software development and testing.
- Own regression test infrastructure and tooling for result analysis, failure triage, and coverage tracking.
- Collaborate with firmware, controls, and runtime engineers to define testability requirements and automate real-world failure scenarios.
- Drive validation burn-down during integration and assembly milestones and track issues to closure across teams.
Requirements
- A technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with fluency in Python and comfort debugging firmware-level code in C, C++, or Rust.
- Experience building validation, simulation, or test infrastructure for physical systems such as robots, motors, or actuators.
- Experience validating or testing robotics middleware or runtime systems such as ROS2 is preferred.
- Experience with dynamic modeling or simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, MuJoCo, or Gazebo is preferred.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards including IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or ISO 26262 and safety validation processes is preferred.
- Comfort with oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers, JTAG, and SWD is preferred.
- Experience with agent-driven coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor is preferred.
About Mind Robotics
Mind Robotics is building generalizable robotics for real-world industrial deployment. We believe the fastest path to broadly capable robots is to work on clearly defined, high impact problems. That's why we're starting where the need is most acute, and the environment is most exacting: the factory floor, in partnership with Rivian. We are building a lean, collaborative team where every individual has a massive impact. Researchers and engineers work hand in hand with hardware every day. We’re looking for builders who are passionate about robotics and live for the challenge of making systems work in the real world. Explore opportunities at https://www.mindrobotics.com/
