Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate reliable backend services that scale globally.
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams to design APIs and data flows.
- Take ownership of services end-to-end, including operations and on-call duties.
- Evolve architecture to support new features and performance improvements.
- Use experimentation and data to drive decisions and enhance feature quality.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to Spotify's engineering culture through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining backend services, preferably with Java.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems concepts.
- Focus on reliability, testing, observability, and continuous delivery.
- Familiarity with tools like Git, BigQuery, Grafana, JUnit, and PagerDuty.
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance developer workflows.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches.
- Enjoyment of collaboration and shaping systems and workflows.
- Experience with GenAI to improve developer experience or engineering efficiency.
