Base Salary
$208k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for Plaid’s data-governance platform.
- Lead the design and delivery of multi-quarter, cross-team initiatives.
- Drive design reviews and establish engineering standards for reliability, correctness, and auditability.
- Partner with Legal, Privacy, Security, and product-engineering teams to define requirements and drive adoption of governance controls.
- Mentor engineers, improve the team’s technical judgment, and serve as a technical point of contact for governance concerns.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of experience building and operating backend distributed systems at scale using a language such as Go or Java.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex system design and completing cross-team technical initiatives.
- Strong fundamentals in data stores, consistency, reliability, correctness, and failure-mode analysis.
- Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical plans and align multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including collaboration with legal, privacy, and compliance partners.
- Prior experience with data privacy, governance, or compliance systems such as GDPR/CCPA deletion, data-use or consent enforcement, cataloging/classification, or auditing is preferred.
