Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on development of secure, scalable, and resilient commercial cloud architectures.
- Plan, design, manage, and operate complex cloud migrations, re-platforming, integrations, and implementations.
- Define and implement cloud security processes and ensure cloud service offerings adhere to DoD Cloud Computing policies and guidelines.
- Evaluate cloud providers, hardware, software, deployment models, service models, migration techniques, and capacity requirements.
- Develop and test cloud and virtualization systems and evaluate emerging technologies.
- Design cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise data platforms, shared data services, analytics workloads, and AI/ML environments.
- Collaborate with software engineering, data engineering, and data science teams on cloud architecture, governance, security, and operations.
- Develop and deploy SSM documents and CloudFormation templates and troubleshoot complex environment issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 14 or more years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance at the start and a Secret Clearance after starting.
- Proven experience as a cloud architect designing and deploying cloud solutions.
- Expertise in Active Directory design and maintenance and cloud engineering with AWS, networking, VPNs, IaaS, and PaaS.
- Experience with cloud compute, storage, networking, security, administration, automation, application services, and databases.
- Experience using Git, YAML, AWS security capabilities, IT service management tools, AWS WorkSpaces or VDI solutions, and government configuration and change management.
- Experience writing SSM documents in JSON/YAML and creating, testing, and deploying CloudFormation templates.
- Understanding of enterprise data architectures, data engineering, analytics, and AI enablement principles.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree with 10 or more years of experience, AWS Cloud Solutions Architect Professional Certification, scripting expertise, AWS networking, BGP, DNS, AWS GovCloud, DevOps tools, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipeline expertise.
