Base Salary
$108k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine user interfaces and control systems for sensors integrated onboard uncrewed underwater vehicles.
- Develop and optimize UUV behaviors to accomplish assigned tasks and maximize sensor-data collection.
- Perform hands-on hardware/software bring-up, benchtop troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Develop platform-independent data-processing tools and analyze telemetry, bench logs, and experiment data.
- Use Linux, Python, C or C++, TCP networking, socket-level transport, ROS2, DDS, CAN bus, UDP, serial communications, and RF datalinks.
- Develop, test, and deliver UUV systems with a small team of engineers and technicians.
- Produce software performance reports, technical reports, briefing materials, training documentation, and engineering documentation.
- Conduct testing aboard small boats and ships, including launching and recovering systems, post-test analysis, and occasional travel for testing, training, and operations.
- Identify solutions to presented problems and map them to an execution schedule.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Strong systems programming capabilities in Linux, Python, and C or C++.
- Practical understanding of TCP networking and socket-level data transport.
- Familiarity with ROS2 package development and DDS middleware.
- Experience interfacing with CAN bus, UDP, serial communications, and RF datalinks.
- Demonstrated hands-on hardware/software bring-up, benchtop troubleshooting, statistical analysis, visualization of large-scale datasets, and experiment-data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to develop solutions, deliver products, and test and evaluate performance.
- Strong technical writing, leadership, organization, flexibility, and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Ability to work aboard marine vessels, sometimes overnight, travel occasionally, climb ladders up to 20 feet, and lift or transport objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
