Base Salary

$200k - $300k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable infrastructure for training, evaluating, and operating language models and AI agents.
  • Develop research environments, evaluation systems, and experimentation platforms for measuring and improving agent performance.
  • Improve model and agent capabilities through post-training, reinforcement learning, prompting, tool design, and workflow optimization.
  • Design sandboxing, policy enforcement, monitoring, and other safeguards for autonomous systems.
  • Partner with HRT teams to identify AI opportunities, develop solutions, and operationalize successful experiments.
  • Evaluate new models, techniques, and products and advise whether to build, buy, or adapt them.
  • Share technical knowledge and establish effective AI engineering practices across HRT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong Python proficiency.
  • Excellent software design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building and operating substantial software systems.
  • Demonstrated engagement with modern AI systems, tools, or research.
  • Relevant experience may include machine learning research or engineering, post-training, fine-tuning, reinforcement learning, alignment, AI-agent architecture, evaluation, tool-use environments, distributed systems, model serving, orchestration, high-throughput research infrastructure, security sandboxing, policy enforcement, adversarial testing, AI governance, or forward-deployed engineering.
  • Linux, systems performance, networking, C++, or TypeScript experience is relevant.
  • Ability to work across research and production engineering, learn unfamiliar domains, use rigorous measurement, and collaborate clearly with varied technical teams.
