Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
- Build new features and products as part of an integrated engineering team.
- Use accounting expertise to identify gaps and improve automation and reconciliation workflows.
- Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
- Provide support and consulting for software system usage.
- Design software applications and features in Go.
- Build reports and automations using Python and SQL.
- Develop scalable solutions within a distributed architecture.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to design products.
- Develop and collect metrics for continuous improvement.
- Deliver high-quality, testable features meeting reporting and compliance standards.
- Mentor engineering teammates and contribute to technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building and serving APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language.
- Experience bringing new ideas forward and building consensus.
- Demonstrated experience with Claude or equivalent large language model tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior accounting or financial analyst experience is preferred.
- Understanding of financial operations including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance is preferred.
- Experience with Python, Java, Go, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog for production monitoring and alerting is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerized microservice architectures deployed with Kubernetes on AWS is preferred.
- History of delivering commercial APIs and web applications is preferred.
