Base Salary
$210k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Join customer calls and site visits and turn customer feedback into working prototypes.
- Build zero-to-one products across backend services, APIs, data pipelines, AI-driven workflows, and React front ends.
- Design, instrument, and evaluate product experiments with the pod.
- Make technical and product-direction decisions with the co-founder and Director of Product Engineering.
- Scale successful prototypes into production systems for the broader engineering organization.
- Set architecture, reusable building blocks, and technical standards for new products.
- Use AI tools in development, debugging, and exploration, and help improve their use across engineering.
- Collaborate with platform, data, and operations teams to reuse existing capabilities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and shipping production software, including new products from scratch at a startup or new-product team.
- Strong backend experience with Python and FastAPI or a similar modern service language, plus relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Ability to ship complete product experiences using React and TypeScript.
- Experience working directly with users and changing direction based on customer feedback.
- Experience building with large language models and sound judgment about their appropriate use.
- Ability to make decisions with incomplete information and revise them as evidence changes.
- Preferred: early or founding engineer experience; healthcare revenue cycle or another operationally complex domain; GCP, SQLAlchemy, and React Router/Remix familiarity; product analytics and experiment design; workflow software or internal tools experience.
