Base Salary
$101k - $116k/yr
Responsibilities
- Assist with database design, data modeling, and SQL development.
- Write and optimize SQL queries across multiple tables and large datasets.
- Analyze database workloads and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Participate in database workload performance benchmarking and testing.
- Develop scripts and software tools to automate repetitive engineering tasks.
- Learn about distributed database architectures, query processing, and database system internals.
- Investigate technical issues and evaluate potential solutions with experienced engineers.
- Participate in design discussions and technical reviews.
- Document technical findings and communicate results to team members.
- Collaborate on reliable, scalable, and easy-to-use database solutions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with at least one of Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C.
- Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithm design, and problem solving.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, communication abilities, and experience collaborating across teams or in technical support.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Preferred: advanced SQL and complex query-writing experience involving multiple tables.
- Preferred: scripting experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or Ruby, or experience in development or technical support.
- Preferred: familiarity with indexing, query optimization, transactions, data modeling, data warehousing, or large-scale data processing.
- Preferred: coursework, projects, or internship experience involving databases, distributed systems, data analytics, or cloud computing.
- Preferred: experience analyzing or benchmarking software or database performance.
