Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of the PAX iOS app, including architecture, modularization, and coding principles for engineers and AI agents.
- Design and develop measurable AI primitives for mobile development, including context, tooling, guardrails, and evaluation.
- Drive adoption across feature teams through RFCs, migration plans, guidelines, and enablement.
- Partner with design platform, mobile platform, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical strategy and resolve complex business, legal, and product needs.
- Support engineering quality through risk management, on-call and incident response, code and design reviews, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Define technical standards, assess risks, monitor outcomes, mentor colleagues, and contribute to hiring and team process decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years of iOS development.
- Expertise in Swift and Objective-C and experience working with large, long-lived codebases.
- Strong AI fundamentals for software engineering, including context engineering, tool use, function calling, agentic workflows, retrieval, evaluation, and common failure modes.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, measuring, and safeguarding LLM-powered tools or product capabilities.
- Experience selecting, evolving, and guiding architectures such as MVVM or VIPER.
- Strong understanding of application operations, system internals, crash analytics, remote debugging, observability, and phased rollouts.
- Experience writing detailed technical documentation and explaining system health, growth opportunities, updates, and resolutions to customers and cross-functional partners.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving team processes, engineering standards, and ways of working.
