Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform using RPGLE, ILE RPG, CLP, and DB2.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
- Develop and modify database files, stored procedures, and reports.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development standards.
- Support production deployments and provide post-implementation assistance.
Requirements
- 4-10 years of experience in RPGLE or related IBM i application development.
- Strong experience with RPGLE, ILE RPG, Free Format RPG, CLLE, and DB2/400.
- Good understanding of the IBM i (AS/400) environment.
- Experience with application maintenance, enhancements, and production support.
- Knowledge of SQL, embedded SQL, and database design concepts.
- Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and incident resolution.
- Understanding of SDLC, change management, and version control processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Preferred experience in banking, financial services, insurance, or retail domains.
- Preferred exposure to APIs, web services, application integration, Aldon, TurnOver, or other IBM i change management tools.
