Responsibilities
- Advise senior leadership and shape technology decisions across multiple lines of business and the broader enterprise.
- Define and evolve enterprise-scale architectures for Java-based platforms and AI/GenAI solutions.
- Design, review, and occasionally code critical components while promoting engineering rigor, automation, testing, performance optimization, and secure coding.
- Drive AI and GenAI strategy, adoption, governance, and responsible implementation from proof of concept to production.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into scalable, resilient, and future-ready technical solutions.
- Define technology strategy, reference architectures, and engineering roadmaps aligned with business outcomes.
- Partner with product, data, risk, and security teams on explainable, secure, and scalable AI solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers and architects and raise the organization’s technical maturity.
- Scan external technology trends and advocate for modernization, simplification, and platform thinking.
- Measure outcomes through business impact such as time-to-market, developer productivity, system resilience, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Deep hands-on engineering expertise with sustained design and development experience in Java, modern JVM stacks, distributed systems, and performance engineering.
- Experience architecting and building AI-powered solutions involving LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG patterns, model orchestration, AI pipelines, and responsible AI practices.
- Strong background in cloud-native architectures, containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and operating systems at enterprise scale.
- Demonstrated technical authority across application, data, AI, platform, and security domains with enterprise-level architecture influence.
- Experience defining long-term technology strategy, reference architectures, and engineering roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of GenAI trends, ecosystem evolution, emerging capabilities, and build-versus-buy evaluation.
- Experience embedding AI into business workflows to improve productivity, risk reduction, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with executives, regulators, partners, and engineering teams.
- Proven ability to influence without authority across global, matrixed organizations and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
- Awareness of industry best practices, competitive landscapes, and fintech or financial services technology trends.
- Active engagement with external communities, conferences, forums, thought leadership, or standards bodies is highly desirable.
