Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded software for programmable logic controllers.
  • Build and maintain automated tests for new and existing product features.
  • Work across commercial off-the-shelf and custom System on Chip hardware environments and general-purpose and embedded real-time operating systems.
  • Operate across requirements management, design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to product requirements, development tools, processes, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop software and automated tests using object-oriented languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Work with requirements decomposition, test traceability, continuous integration, automated testing, and acceptance testing.
  • Participate in product, sprint, and program-increment planning.
  • Mentor less experienced personnel and encourage knowledge sharing across the development community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Typically at least five years of related experience, including professional software design and implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design, and programming techniques.
  • Experience developing software, automated tests, and tools in C++ or Python.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, requirements decomposition, test traceability, and continuous integration environments.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, unit-testing tools such as GTest or CppUnit, and Agile project tools.
  • Experience with industrial protocols, especially Common Industrial Protocol.
  • Experience developing software and tests to safety and security standards such as IEC 61508 or IEC 62443.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
  • Preferred education or background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, controls, or related software engineering principles.
