Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain software architectures and applications supporting automated test stations.
- Translate system requirements into software specifications and improve software performance, usability, integration, reliability, and modularity.
- Work with ARINC 429, IEEE-1394, MIL-STD-1553, UART, RS-422, and fiber-optic-based avionics and communication systems.
- Create user guides, technical specifications, design records, release notes, and other software documentation.
- Write clean, maintainable code in C++ or other object-oriented programming languages while following safe coding practices and standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, integration, and test teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 0–1 year of hands-on software development experience designing, implementing, and testing software components.
- Basic understanding of software development toolchains such as SVN or Git.
- Proficiency in Visual Studio .NET development using C++ or C#.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements.
- Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree, aerospace software internship or co-op experience, instrumentation experience with oscilloscopes and digital multimeters, embedded systems or hardware-software integration experience, Python scripting experience, and an active Secret-or-higher U.S. Government security clearance.
