Responsibilities
- Develop embedded C/C++ firmware for intelligent lighting and guest room control systems.
- Design, test, optimize, and debug firmware controlling lighting, HVAC, motorized shades, occupancy sensing, thermostats, relays, touch panels, and related in-room products.
- Integrate DALI, DMX, RS-485, Modbus, and 0-10V communication protocols with room and building systems.
- Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and firmware troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
- Develop touch-based user interfaces and work with microcontrollers, RTOS environments, and resource-constrained systems.
- Work with cloud platforms and voice-assistant protocols including Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
- Author design documentation, installation manuals, and test procedures.
- Implement testing to verify performance, security, safety, EMI, and reliability requirements.
- Troubleshoot firmware and hardware issues and ensure products meet UL, FCC, and CE standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technologies, or Computer Science.
- At least 3 years of experience in embedded firmware or hardware.
- Experience with microcontrollers such as STM32, NXP, or Silicon Labs and embedded C/C++.
- Familiarity with guest room control systems and lighting protocols such as DALI, DMX, and 0-10V is an asset.
- Experience with low-voltage systems, including 24VDC and 120/277VAC interfaces.
- Proficiency debugging hardware and firmware with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with Silicon Labs microcontrollers, Zigbee stacks such as EmberZNet PRO, and Atmel touch-enabled microcontrollers is valuable.
- Embedded Linux knowledge is an asset.
