Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Conduct deep debugging and root-cause analysis of Windows VM issues, including blue screens, performance degradation, and crashes.
- Develop fixes and hotfixes for critical customer issues affecting Windows virtual machines.
- Plan and implement architectural improvements for the Windows experience on OpenShift Virtualization.
- Improve the stability and performance of the virtualization software stack.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on software design and implementation.
- Monitor Windows developments to maintain compatibility with OpenShift Virtualization.
- Contribute Windows requirements and code to KubeVirt, QEMU, libvirt, and related open source projects.
- Collaborate with distributed Red Hat engineering teams and open source communities.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of Windows operating system internals, including kernels, drivers, configuration, and debugging.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development or engineering.
- Proven ability to perform deep debugging and root-cause analysis of complex issues.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or KVM, QEMU, and libvirt, as well as containerization.
- Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language, such as Golang or Python, is highly desirable.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness and desire to transition into the Linux and Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Experience with Windows or Linux system administration or architecture is a plus.
- Experience with open source software development and community contribution is a plus.
