Responsibilities
- Function as a Technical Lead within the Integrated Benefits team.
- Design, build, and test technical foundations for Voluntary Life and Disability products.
- Architect complex, interconnected technical systems in a Ruby on Rails environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve architectural puzzles.
- Mentor and grow fellow engineers within a high-performing team.
- Drive the product development process from feature specs to code maintenance.
- Build tools and shared capabilities to improve engineering productivity.
- Apply AI tools to accelerate development and stay updated on emerging frameworks.
Requirements
- 12+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails with a focus on maintainable, structured code.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, data modeling, and system design.
- Experience influencing product and team direction across multiple teams.
- Experience with platform products and service extraction or componentization.
- Experience engineering and supporting large-scale systems in production.
