Responsibilities
- Manage AWS and Cloudflare infrastructure with Terraform, including remote state, CI plan/apply workflows, imports, and drift correction.
- Maintain CloudFormation stacks and migrate them to CDK or Terraform without service interruptions.
- Configure Cloudflare DNS, WAF, custom rules, rate limiting, bot management, and cache rules through Terraform.
- Operate and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL through query tuning, indexing, replication, failover, backups, restores, and safe migrations.
- Maintain CI/CD using GitHub Actions with AWS OIDC and reusable workflows, plus CodeBuild, safe deployments, and rollbacks.
- Automate operational tasks with Python, Bash, boto3, and API integrations, and troubleshoot Linux systems.
- Manage observability dashboards, low-noise alerts, and SLOs using the platform’s monitoring tools.
- Handle incidents, on-call duties, triage, postmortems, and guard-rotation coordination during unpredictable traffic spikes.
- Translate bot and scanner traffic into WAF and rate-limiting rules while supporting secrets management, IAM reviews, CVE/Dependabot triage, and cost optimization.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Terraform and AWS and Cloudflare providers.
- Experience managing Cloudflare DNS, WAF, custom rules, rate limiting, bot management, and caching.
- Strong MySQL/PostgreSQL experience covering tuning, indexes, replication, failover, backup and restore, and safe migrations.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, AWS OIDC, reusable workflows, CodeBuild, safe deployments, and rollbacks.
- Python and Bash skills, including boto3, API integrations, and Linux troubleshooting.
- Experience with SSO and SAML 2.0 using an identity provider such as Okta or Auth0.
- Basic knowledge of Athena, S3, and Glue.
- Fluent spoken and written English and comfort working autonomously with distributed teams, tickets, and runbooks.
- Comfort using Jira and agile ways of working, daily AI coding agents, and end-to-end ownership.
- Interest in learning wired and wireless network protocols and applying them to network troubleshooting.
- Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Serverless Framework, Docker with ECS, and experience with high-traffic consumer websites are valued.
