$223k - $265k/yr

Responsibilities

Own and evolve the architecture for key areas of the Integrated Benefits platform.
Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy within your domain.
Contribute to the technical roadmap for your area of the platform.
Design and build shared platform capabilities for Voluntary Life and Disability products.
Lead the technical approach to complex problem spaces.
Identify cross-team dependencies and influence alignment on architectural standards.
Mentor engineers through design reviews and architectural guidance.
Apply AI tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
Contribute to shared tooling and standards for effective experimentation.

10+ years of software engineering experience in production software systems.
Significant experience designing complex backend systems, especially in Ruby on Rails.
Ability to own architectural decisions and influence technical direction.
Experience building platform capabilities relied on by multiple teams.
Strong foundation in system design and data modeling.
Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Experience applying AI tools in production workflows.
Familiarity with evaluating AI-driven outputs using success criteria.
