Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Grafana dashboards for infrastructure, application, and business metrics.
- Architect and implement observability solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and other data sources.
- Define dashboard standards, naming conventions, monitoring practices, and documentation across teams.
- Build and optimize PromQL, LogQL, SQL, and Flux queries for performance and accuracy.
- Design alerting strategies, escalation workflows, alerts, panels, variables, and templates.
- Develop custom integrations, automation, and Grafana API-based solutions.
- Integrate Grafana with Prometheus, Loki, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other data sources.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver monitoring solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
Requirements
- 3 to 8 years of experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Grafana, including advanced dashboards, variables, transformations, and alerts.
- Deep experience with Prometheus and PromQL, plus log aggregation tools such as Grafana Loki or the ELK stack.
- Experience integrating Grafana with SQL, NoSQL, and time-series databases.
- Strong Linux knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, REST APIs, and JSON.
- Experience with Grafana plugin development using React and TypeScript.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes monitoring with kube-prometheus-stack and Helm.
- Experience with AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or GCP monitoring.
- Scripting or programming experience with Python, Go, or Bash.
- Familiarity with SLO/SLI design, error budgets, Grafana security and access control, Grafana Loki and Tempo, Alertmanager, PagerDuty, and Opsgenie.
- Academic credentials must be from recognized and accredited institutions and are subject to verification.
