Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test human-computer interface, acoustic processing, and middleware software products.
- Work with Systems Engineering to define solutions, requirements, and test strategies.
- Deliver high-quality, robust software that meets customer requirements on time and within budget.
- Support software products deployed on land and at sea in collaboration with customer support functions.
- Contribute to software strategy, skills development, technology choices, and ways of working.
- Collaborate with Thales sites and project teams in the UK and overseas.
- Undertake business travel to Thales and non-Thales sites throughout the UK.
Requirements
- A good foundation in computer science and proficient programming skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self-motivation, ownership of professional development, and the ability to drive solutions to completion.
- Experience with Java, C++, or C is desirable.
- Awareness of software configuration control, real-time software constraints, Linux, shell scripts, UML modelling, and software architectures is desirable.
- Ideally, a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Engineering, or a related subject.
- Must be a UK national and able to achieve and maintain Security Clearance without caveats.
- Generally, eligibility for full SC requires five years of UK residence, although three years may be accepted in some circumstances with additional checks.
