Base Salary

$136k - $203k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build, provision, upgrade, and operate Amazon EKS and self-managed Kubernetes clusters on hybrid infrastructure.
  • Develop AWS infrastructure in Python with AWS CDK across a multi-account organization, including networking, IAM, DNS, compute, containers, databases, and storage.
  • Partner with digital, data engineering, and other teams to deliver environments, access, pipelines, and production troubleshooting support.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD workflows, reusable GitHub Actions, container build and release patterns, and GitOps deployments to Kubernetes.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, write postmortems, and implement follow-up fixes.
  • Build dashboards and alerts, automate repeated operational work, and create self-service tooling.
  • Write runbooks, how-to guides, and design documentation for teammates and supported teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, platform, or infrastructure engineering with hands-on production responsibility.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating production workloads on AWS, including IAM, VPC networking, EC2, EKS or ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Route 53, and CloudWatch.
  • Production Kubernetes operations experience, ideally with both EKS and self-managed clusters, including workload, networking, storage, and upgrade troubleshooting.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with infrastructure as code; AWS CDK experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and make targeted changes to TypeScript.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions or similar tools, container image building and security, Helm, and GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and CloudWatch, plus production on-call participation.
  • Solid Linux administration skills and understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, TLS certificates, and VPN connectivity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include multi-account AWS experience, AWS Associate or Professional certification, Rancher or CKA certification, data platform or pipeline experience, manufacturing or OT exposure, VMware familiarity, and experience with policy as code, secrets management, or software supply chain security.
  • Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly and work effectively in a fast-moving, resource-constrained startup environment.
