Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams.
- Own medium to large infrastructure projects and complex technology capabilities from technical design through completion.
- Design and build resilient systems, reduce failure domains, and minimize the impact of maintenance and outages.
- Guide the development of Service-Level Objectives for owned systems.
- Build software and automation that improves reliability and reduces operational effort.
- Drive technical roadmap prioritization and influence product roadmap and process improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and train engineers while enforcing stable, correct, and maintainable coding standards.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration, identify delivery risks, and mitigate them.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasingly impactful accomplishments.
- Experience contributing significantly to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables.
- Experience leading technical contributions and building fault-tolerant, scalable software systems.
- Expertise applying computer science concepts in a team environment.
- Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers.
- Deep production cloud experience with AWS or GCP at scale is preferred.
- Advanced Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code experience is preferred.
- Kubernetes, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Prometheus, Grafana, IAM, VPC peering, and Istio experience is preferred.
- Strong Site Reliability Engineering experience, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management, is preferred.
- Ability to use at least one programming language to develop scripts and software.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience.
Benefits
- Hybrid Tempe work schedule requiring three days in the office per week, including Thursdays, with two flexible office days.
- Base pay is $180,504–$236,911 per year, with eligibility for equity grants and annual performance bonuses.
