Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate software infrastructure that enables learning algorithms to use Zipline’s large-scale fleet data.
- Design and maintain data and ML infrastructure for dataset creation, validation, training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Own and improve data pipelines supporting the ML development cycle.
- Identify and mitigate orchestration, performance, and reproducibility bottlenecks.
- Monitor data statistics, system performance metrics, pipeline failures, and model and evaluation signals.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally involving ML infrastructure, data infrastructure, robotics, autonomy, aerospace, medical devices, or another safety-critical hardware or product environment.
- Strong production Python engineering skills, including designing APIs, services, schemas, jobs, and operational workflows.
- Experience building reproducible data and machine-learning pipelines.
- Working knowledge of datasets, training, evaluation, optimization, statistics, and modern deep learning workflows.
- Experience with PyTorch or similar ML frameworks.
- Experience with Kubernetes or another container orchestration system for production workloads.
- Experience with cloud and on-premise production infrastructure, preferably AWS, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience deploying or evaluating ML systems on robots, autonomous vehicles, drones, or other hardware products is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale training systems, feature stores, data or versioned artifact stores, model registries, experiment tracking, annotation systems, dataset inspection tooling, or active-learning workflows is preferred.
Benefits
- Starting cash range is $160,000–$250,000 depending on level, experience, qualifications, skills, location, and projected impact.
- Total compensation may include equity compensation, discretionary annual or performance bonuses, sales incentives, medical, dental and vision insurance, and paid time off.
