Base Salary
$164k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and deliver primarily Go and occasionally Python software that improves product availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain a suite of Go services and Reddit’s legacy Python monolith stack.
- Implement complex code modifications and system-level platform improvements.
- Identify gaps in the platform and help evolve it for the next two or more years of growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams and solicit customer feedback.
- Share on-call responsibilities and support monitoring and alerting to improve reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of production software engineering experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java.
- Experience with databases such as Cassandra, Postgres, or Redis.
- Experience with modern cloud-based infrastructure such as Kubernetes, gRPC, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Prior experience with scaled, high-rate platform services and API design is preferred.
