Base Salary
$182k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, reliable, resilient distributed backend services using Python and FastAPI for clinical and operational workflows.
- Own the team’s domain, improve system performance and reliability, and participate in production on-call rotations.
- Contribute to architectural vision, technical roadmaps, code reviews, and technical design documentation.
- Drive engineering excellence through testing, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with product, design, data, clinical, care operations, providers, pharmacists, and patients to deliver compliant healthcare systems.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience architecting, designing, and building scalable web applications and distributed systems.
- Proficiency with Python, relational databases, and frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
- Hands-on experience with metrics instrumentation, data-driven performance tuning, load testing infrastructure, and Datadog.
- Experience scaling complex, data-intensive backend systems through rapid 10x growth while maintaining performance and availability.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, data consistency, communication patterns, and service boundaries.
- Ability and desire to own technical roadmaps, solve ambiguous problems, and collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners.
- Preferred: experience in telehealth or other highly regulated industries, and experience decomposing monolithic applications into distributed asynchronous services.
