Base Salary
$280k - $320k/yr
Responsibilities
- Advise physical-world startups on integrating Claude into products and engineering workflows.
- Work hands-on with software and hardware teams through pair programming, architecture reviews, workshops, and implementation guidance.
- Develop prototypes, evaluation suites, engineering benchmarks, technical documentation, architecture diagrams, reference implementations, and sample code.
- Integrate Claude with CAD, simulation, design tools, and industrial automation systems.
- Identify recurring challenges in applying AI to physical systems and develop repeatable evaluations and solutions.
- Create startup-focused technical content and support hackathons, webinars, technical office hours, and events.
- Travel to customer sites for workshops, implementation guidance, and relationship building.
Requirements
- Deep engineering experience in a physical discipline such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace, robotics, semiconductor, manufacturing, or civil engineering.
- At least 4 years of technical experience as a software, ML, research, robotics, controls, hardware, or systems engineer, or as a technical founder.
- Production experience building LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale, or experience applying AI to engineering work.
- Experience with startups or high-growth companies and working with founders and small teams.
- Strong technical communication skills and experience translating AI concepts into architecture and implementation plans for software and hardware audiences.
- Ability to run technical workshops, hackathons, or developer-focused events.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field.
Benefits
- Annual compensation is listed as $280,000—$320,000 USD.
- Hybrid policy currently expects staff to work from an Anthropic office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office time.
- Anthropic sponsors visas and will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa if an offer is made, though sponsorship is not successful for every role or candidate.
