Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, manage, and operate production CDN applications using Cloudflare and/or Akamai.
- Build IaC/GitOps automation for network services infrastructure, provisioning workflows, API integrations, and React-based interfaces where needed.
- Lead system design efforts and create architecture and design documentation.
- Review code, mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and raise engineering standards.
- Build and maintain delivery pipelines with automated testing, coverage, and quality gates.
- Support monitoring, alerting, incident response, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.
- Partner with internal teams and evaluate external vendors against target architecture needs.
- Lead responsible use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, including validation for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience owning CDN production systems and frameworks.
- Strong system design experience with distributed services, relational and NoSQL data stores, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ.
- Practical experience running cloud services using Amazon Web Services patterns and services.
- Understanding of secure software development lifecycle practices, continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and resiliency.
- Ability to lead through influence using code reviews, technical decisions, and mentoring.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development workflows and establishing standards for validating AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, and compliant engineering adoption.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of operational experience with Akamai or Cloudflare CDNs, ideally in a banking or financial enterprise.
- Preferred: infrastructure as code experience, React familiarity, production use of AI-assisted coding and design tools, and experience in regulated environments with strong risk and security controls.
