Responsibilities
- Gather requirements across cross-functional teams.
- Develop practical, fault-tolerant, high-performance distributed systems.
- Lead and participate in technical design discussions across cross-functional teams.
- Develop deep domain understanding and generate creative solutions.
- Conduct independent research relevant to the field of work.
- Mentor other engineers on the team.
- Build software delivered as a service with an emphasis on reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable infrastructure services.
- Deep understanding and work experience in distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrent programming, and other core computer science concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
- Strong communication skills.
- Preferred experience with observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Preferred experience building observability platforms.
- Preferred experience designing and using columnar storage.
- Familiarity with time-series database internals.
- Passion for developing and testing clear, robust code.
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks.
