Responsibilities
- Engage with Product Owners and Managers to understand requirements.
- Develop solutions for investment management research and reporting.
- Automate manual processes to improve productivity.
- Build and support ETL pipelines, data analysis applications, scalable microservices, and message-driven applications.
- Enable portfolio management and research teams to build data-driven solutions.
- Build relationships with internal business partners and vendors.
- Provide on-call support and occasional overtime as part of the engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, or business, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Application development and support experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy, AWS S3, Step Functions, Lambda, SNS, SQS, and Glue or Apache Spark.
- Strong demonstrable experience in data modeling for relational SQL and NoSQL applications.
- Preferred experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and DB2.
- Strong understanding of architectural and software design patterns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an interest in architectural and technical documentation.
- Broad knowledge of software engineering and testing methodologies.
- Experience working in an Agile framework.
- Preferred five or more years of application development and support experience with the stated Python, data, and AWS technologies.
- Cloud-native and AWS development experience is preferred.
- Investment management data and data vendor experience, including Bloomberg or FactSet, is preferred.
