Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize methods for presenting additional content to VPN users while they browse the web.
- Develop and optimize real-time content-analysis tools to improve content relevance.
- Apply state-of-the-art machine-learning algorithms to improve user experience and business results.
- Use front-end and back-end technologies to rapidly prototype and deploy solutions.
Requirements
- Practical knowledge of data-mining and machine-learning techniques.
- Solid experience with advanced JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; jQuery-only experience is insufficient.
- Extensive programming experience on Unix platforms.
- Good knowledge of the LAMP stack.
- Experience with cross-platform and cross-browser development.
- Experience working in startup and small-team environments.
- A record of delivering quality, bug-free code on schedule.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Master’s degree in computer science with a machine-learning focus and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Preferred: consumer internet or online advertising experience.
- Preferred: experience with natural-language processing, contextual analysis, keyword extraction, and summarization.
- Preferred: experience with open-source learning packages such as Mahout, SciPy, and Weka.
- Preferred: knowledge of Perl, Python, or other scripting languages.
- Preferred: experience with searching and indexing.
