Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable Java microservices and APIs.
- Build or use agents to migrate a code-generated Java application to native Java.
- Develop responsive front-end features and own them alongside backend functionality.
- Develop agentic AI features, including RAG pipelines and MCP-based integrations.
- Apply few-shot, one-shot, and chain-of-thought prompt engineering techniques.
- Make architecture and design decisions balancing scale, cost, and maintainability.
- Write tested code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Help establish engineering standards and mentor other developers when appropriate.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
- Strong Java proficiency and experience designing and building microservices architectures using Spring Boot or an equivalent.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills and a solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
- Experience building clean, secure, and maintainable API endpoints.
- Front-end experience with Angular or React and the ability to build responsive user interfaces.
- Experience building RAG applications or pipelines.
- Strong day-to-day working knowledge of few-shot, one-shot, and chain-of-thought prompt engineering.
- Comfort with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Kiro, Cursor, or Copilot, supported by strong technical judgment.
- Comfort working in Agile teams and delivery processes.
- Preferred: Python experience for AI agent logic, MCP development, and integrations; Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift deployment experience; AWS and CI/CD experience; familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar frameworks; exposure to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Azure OpenAI SDKs; vector database experience; and technical leadership or mentorship experience.
