Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and debug modular embedded C and C++ applications and background daemon services for vocoder, PNT/timing, serial I/O, and device-proxy functions.
  • Build, package, test, and optimize Docker and Podman container images for tactical radio components and waveforms on embedded hardware.
  • Create Python and Bash automation for container orchestration, system configuration, build pipelines, integration tests, and hardware verification.
  • Deploy and validate software on embedded Linux platforms running primarily on ARM64 and x86_64 systems-on-chip.
  • Assist with driver-level debugging, peripheral bring-up, bus communications, performance diagnosis, memory-leak investigation, and interface debugging.
  • Support laboratory hardware-in-the-loop testing, test-tool development, customer milestones, and waveform demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3–5 years of embedded software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in C and C++, including the standard library and POSIX APIs, with the ability to contribute to polyglot codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and Bash for system scripting, test automation, and workflow tooling.
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, including RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, CentOS, systemd, package management, dmesg, CMake, Make, and GCC/Clang.
  • Experience with Docker, Podman, OCI standards, multi-stage Containerfiles/Dockerfiles, container networking, and volume mounts.
  • Experience debugging embedded systems with GDB, strace, valgrind, and system profilers.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
  • Preferred experience includes REDHAWK SDR, GNU Radio, SCA, CORBA, omniORB, DDS, gRPC, RS-232/422, CAN bus, MIL-STD-1553, TCP/UDP sockets, Yocto Project, Buildroot, PetaLinux, SOSA, CMOSS, MORA, OpenVPX, Go, microservices, digital signal concepts, vocoders, audio codecs, IEEE 1588 PTP, and GPS/PPS synchronization.
