Base Salary
$143k - $161k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement Roku video player features for FOX’s consumer-facing streaming applications.
- Build video playback solutions that support FOX video streaming initiatives and improve playback performance.
- Work on performance, scalability, security, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical specifications, documentation, and UML diagrams where appropriate.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, project management, and backend technology teams.
- Deliver software using collaborative development practices and participate in Tier 3 on-call support.
- Support and coach software engineers through educational opportunities.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Excellent programming skills in BrightScript.
- Deep understanding of the SceneGraph framework and task/render thread optimization.
- Demonstrable experience building responsive user experiences.
- Experience with unit testing, end-to-end testing, Git, SVN, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with video streaming technologies such as HLS, video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, Roku Media Player, Conviva, or Segment is preferred.
