Responsibilities
- Translate client needs and priorities into application architectures and delivery roadmaps from design through production.
- Design and develop backend services, REST APIs, and microservices on cloud platforms integrated with modern data platforms.
- Build integration services connecting databases, APIs, enterprise applications, industrial systems, and devices using asynchronous and event-driven patterns.
- Develop application components for ETL/ELT orchestration, data ingestion, transformation, and integration with data-engineering pipelines.
- Develop services that expose and consume datasets, data models, semantic layers, and data products for analytics and AI applications.
- Contribute to web interfaces according to frontend expertise and guide technical delivery while maintaining quality, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Coach junior colleagues through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing; senior profiles may coordinate streams or small teams.
- Collaborate with Data, Cloud, Security, Product, and Business teams and use Generative AI tools for analysis, development, testing, and documentation.
Requirements
- Significant experience in backend or full-stack software development and complex solutions involving Data Platforms, Data Engineering, Cloud Analytics, or Data & AI.
- Strong backend skills with C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience designing, developing, and industrializing REST APIs and microservices, system integrations, and asynchronous or event-driven communication patterns.
- Experience with testing, Git, CI/CD, quality engineering, containerization, cloud services, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with modern data platforms, cloud data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, or lakehouse architectures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Spark, SQL, Python, dbt, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience integrating, transforming, modeling, and adding value to data from heterogeneous sources, including understanding ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Familiarity with data quality, governance, security, and data lifecycle management.
- Ability to translate business needs into feasible technology solutions and roadmaps and maintain delivery ownership.
- Ability to lead technical decisions, provide coaching and reviews, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders according to seniority level.
- Interest in Generative AI, Machine Learning, RAG, semantic search, and agentic workflows.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills and fluent English.
- Frontend skills with React, Angular, or Vue.js are a plus.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, supply chain, engineering, quality, or operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, quality systems, or IoT solutions is a plus.
Benefits
- Annual gross compensation is defined under the Italian Metalworking Collective Agreement at B2 or B3 levels, with the stated salary bands.
- The position is hybrid, as indicated by the #LI-Hybrid designation.
