Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
- Work with the Android app lifecycle, activities, fragments, and common Android components.
- Implement MVVM or Clean Architecture patterns and develop interfaces with XML and/or Jetpack Compose.
- Manage UI state and component behavior, and use Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous operations.
- Implement dependency injection with Hilt or Dagger and integrate applications with APIs and JSON.
- Read and troubleshoot existing Kotlin and Java code, debug crashes and performance issues, and analyze logs.
- Use Git, participate in code reviews, testing, bug fixing, and release activities.
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, and backend teams.
Requirements
- Good fundamentals in Kotlin and Android development.
- Basic understanding of MVVM or Clean Architecture and UI state management.
- Understanding of the Android lifecycle, activities, fragments, common components, Coroutines, and Flow.
- Ability to understand existing Kotlin and Java code and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to learn new technologies.
- Jetpack Compose experience is preferred.
- Exposure to RxJava or reactive programming is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Figma, Postman, Firebase/Crashlytics, analytics tools, and CI/CD processes is desirable.
- Video streaming or OTT application experience is a plus; familiarity with ExoPlayer/Media3, HLS, DASH, or DRM is an added advantage.
- Good communication and collaboration skills and eagerness to learn and grow as an Android developer.
