Responsibilities
- Enhance Kubernetes-based cluster platforms for performance, scalability, resilience, and global resource management.
- Design and maintain unified scheduling for containers, VMs, online services, offline computing, AI/ML workloads, and CPU/GPU workloads.
- Develop AI-assisted scheduling systems that optimize workload performance and resource utilization across CPU, GPU, memory, network, and power.
- Design and evolve compute platforms for reliable and cost-effective ML and LLM training and inference.
- Write high-quality maintainable code and track open-source and research advances in AI, ML, systems, and Serverless technologies.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience; new PhD graduates with strong publication records may be considered as an exception.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, high-performance networking systems, or large-scale software systems.
- Experience designing, architecting, and building cloud and ML infrastructure, including resource management, allocation, job scheduling, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
- Preferred experience with large-scale cluster management systems such as Kubernetes, Ray, Yarn, or Mesos.
- Preferred experience with resource-efficiency management, job scheduling, application scaling, workload co-location, and isolation improvements.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills, with an interest in system efficiency, quality, performance, and scalability.
