Base Salary
$211k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set the technical strategy and vision for Asana’s API platform and advocate for engineering-driven investments
- Drive continuous improvement in team delivery and help engineers develop their skills
- Collaborate across Engineering and serve as the technical counterpart to the API team’s Engineering Manager
- Partner with Product Management, Design, Data Science, and User Research to understand developer needs and propose solutions
- Own API design guidelines and help product engineering teams implement best practices through self-service approaches
- Develop across the stack using Scala, JavaScript, and TypeScript to improve developer experiences
- Mentor and grow engineers and developer advocates
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience working in large codebases
- At least 2 years leading engineering teams
- At least 1 year building public-facing API products or Developer Platforms
- Strong communication, collaboration, delegation, project management, timeline planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and coordination skills
- Ability to mentor engineers at all skill levels and provide thoughtful, candid feedback
- Ability to transition between contexts and codebases and rapidly unblock teammates
- Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies and willingness to use them to improve productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
