Base Salary
$150k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build Sonar’s core systems, including scalable APIs, distributed data pipelines, and user interfaces.
- Develop and ship features across backend services, frontend components, and infrastructure.
- Develop, evaluate, and productionize LLM-based features.
- Build systems that perform under load, recover gracefully, and are easy to monitor and improve.
- Influence architecture, engineering practices, and company culture as an early engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including work at a high-growth startup or technology company.
- Deep experience building and scaling full-stack systems across cloud infrastructure, backend APIs, and modern frontend applications.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience designing and maintaining systems on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, including observability and infrastructure-as-code.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and workflow or job orchestration tools such as Temporal, Inngest, or Airflow.
- Experience integrating LLMs, retrieval pipelines, or structured evaluation workflows.
- Strong communication, collaboration, autonomy, and project ownership skills in an early-stage environment.
