Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded flight software modules under senior-engineer guidance.
- Write and test small software modules and participate in design and code reviews.
- Support integration of mission-specific microcontrollers into spacecraft systems.
- Help troubleshoot embedded systems using laboratory and debugging equipment.
- Document design decisions and progress and collaborate with subsystem engineers on software specifications.
- Support software development activities across spacecraft assembly, integration, testing, launch, and commissioning.
Requirements
- Recent graduate or final-year student with a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic programming knowledge in C or C++ through coursework or projects, with familiarity with modern C++ considered a plus.
- Basic understanding of RTOS, multithreading, concurrency, embedded microcontrollers, serial communication protocols, and circuit diagrams.
- Familiarity with an embedded microcontroller such as ARM, STM32, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi through coursework, projects, or hobby work.
- Familiarity with a scripting language such as Python, Ruby, or Bash and with Git or another version-control tool.
- Exposure to FPGA programming with Verilog or VHDL, debugging interfaces such as SWD or JTAG, and tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters is helpful or preferred.
- Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink and academic interest or coursework in aerospace or space technology are preferred.
- No prior professional experience is required; academic, personal, laboratory, or hobby projects are welcome.
