Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly available, performant, resilient cloud-native software solutions.
  • Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure production code for distributed services.
  • Drive technical decisions affecting product design, application functionality, and operational processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in public cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure as code.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident root-cause analysis.
  • Improve SDLC automation and establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs.
  • Influence engineering practices and technologies across peers and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • At least 5 years of applied software engineering experience and at least 2 years leading engineers on complex technical work.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and production operations for distributed services.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
  • Experience migrating complex applications to the public cloud, including IaC developer, SRE, or acceleration work.
  • Experience delivering in an Agile environment using continuous integration, continuous delivery, and Scrum.
  • Experience with modular monolith and microservices architectures and software design patterns.
  • Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Preferred: experience with API-based and event-driven architectures.
  • Preferred: advanced experience building and operating cloud-native solutions on Amazon Web Services.
  • Preferred: hands-on Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience, including modules, policies, and environment promotion.
  • Preferred: modern front-end development experience with React.
  • Preferred: experience defining metrics, logs, traces, observability standards, and operational readiness practices.
