Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and performant software solutions.
- Build, integrate, support, and improve data-streaming services on the Akamai Platform, including systems for collecting and analyzing performance metrics.
- Design and develop DevOps tools that improve the software delivery system.
- Create processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain, and improve streaming-data-pipeline usability and observability.
- Automate operational tasks and streamline daily work toward zero human engagement.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and contribute to platform reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Relevant experience and a bachelor’s diploma in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Software development experience using at least two of Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, and JavaScript; JavaScript is listed as nice to have.
- More than five years of experience with distributed systems, Linux networking, TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, and HTTP protocols.
- More than three years of experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
- More than three years of experience with observability, performance analytics, and security tools such as Prometheus and DataDog.
- Experience with big-data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark and their design principles.
- Skills in Bash scripting, SQL, and REST API design.
