Responsibilities
- Configure and customize LabVantage modules for laboratory and business requirements.
- Support instrument connectivity, SDMS and Empower integrations, instrument setup, maintenance scheduling, and connectivity configuration.
- Design, build, and maintain Jasper or equivalent reports and operational dashboards.
- Deliver technical solutions from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Plan and execute LabVantage upgrades and patches in coordination with validation teams.
- Support multi-site and global rollouts, master-data management, and configuration migration using the MDC tool.
- Troubleshoot production issues across application, integration, and database layers and perform root-cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain LabVantage integrations with ERP and other enterprise systems using middleware and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Document configurations, technical specifications, support procedures, and change-control activities.
- Mentor and train internal team members on LabVantage development and support practices.
- Build automation for access provisioning, deployments, and release activities.
- Ensure development, integrations, automation, and documentation comply with GMP, GxP, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, ALCOA+, and change-control requirements.
- Represent the team during audits and support QA change control and periodic reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in laboratory informatics, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or chemicals industry.
- 5+ years of industry experience, or comparable LIMS platform experience with demonstrated ability to ramp up on LabVantage.
- At least 3 years of hands-on LabVantage development and configuration experience.
- Working knowledge of LabVantage’s technology stack, APIs, and web services, including Java, JavaScript, JSP, HTML5, Groovy, SQL, XML, JSON, JBoss, GitHub, and MuleSoft.
- Strong relational database skills with SQL Server, including schema design, query performance, and stored procedures.
- Experience with Jasper Reports or similar reporting tools.
- Experience managing upgrades in validated and regulated environments, including test planning and documentation.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability across application, integration, and database layers.
- Experience translating laboratory and business requirements into technical specifications and configurations.
- Experience integrating LIMS with ERP or other enterprise systems.
- Experience with multi-site or global LabVantage deployments and master-data migration.
- Experience as the sole or lead LIMS developer supporting a global user base.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for backlog management, requirements documentation, and collaboration.
- Demonstrated CSV/SDLC validation knowledge.
- LabVantage certifications or vendor-provided training credentials.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and technical training abilities.
